Rochester Motorcyclist Injured in Collision with Road Grader

A man from Rochester was airlifted after a motorcycle crash on Thursday, April 16. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

Crash details

The crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. at County 3 NW and County Road 105 NW. A road grader was attempting to turn when the motorcycle tried to pass.

The rider was thrown into a ditch during the impact.

Injuries and medical response

The Rochester motorcyclist suffered a broken leg and other injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Mayo One airlifted him to a hospital for further care.

Investigation

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Initial reports say the grader’s turn and the passing attempt are under review.
