George Foreman Honored with Iowa Burial, Fulfilling Lifelong Wish

George Foreman was laid to rest in Northwest Iowa at Logan Park Cemetery on April 17, 2025. Family members said the burial honored a long-held wish after a transformative visit in 1988.

Grave site and family visit

The gravesite overlooks the Loess Hills and sits close to Stone State Park. Foreman’s relatives traveled from Texas to place him there.

They described the setting as exactly what he had spoken about. The family returned on April 16, 2026, to view his monument and to thank local officials.

Remarks and thank-yous

At a news conference, the family expressed gratitude to the city and community. “Our father lived a life of purpose, faith and gratitude,” they said.

Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott said the family’s story shows how one place can remain meaningful. He noted the connection between memory and landscape.
