KU Basketball Freshman Bryson Tiller Transfers to Missouri Tigers Rivalry

Bryson Tiller announced he will transfer to Missouri during a live stream with The Field of 68. The 6-foot-11, 240-pound forward is from Atlanta and visited Missouri days before the announcement.

Tiller started 31 games for Kansas in the 2025-26 season. He averaged 7.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game before entering the transfer portal last week.

Season finish and lineup decisions

The Jayhawks benched Tiller in the second half of their Big 12 Tournament semifinal loss to Houston. He told Filmogaz.com he was “shocked” by the coaching decision.

He scored three points or fewer in five of Kansas’ final seven games. Tiller also went scoreless in KU’s season-ending loss to St. John’s in the NCAA Tournament.

Coaching feedback and development plans

Kansas staff praised his long-term potential. Coach Bill Self and his assistants pressed him to be more aggressive and physical at times during the year.

Tiller said he planned to use the offseason to improve those aspects of his game. Multiple NBA scouts viewed him as a likely future professional prospect.

Recruiting background and transfer context

Tiller was a top national recruit. He reclassified to arrive at Kansas earlier and had once held a five-star rating.

  • Originally considered Georgia Tech, Auburn, Indiana and others.
  • Chose Kansas over several major programs during recruitment.

Rivalry implications

The move makes Tiller one of the few players to play for both programs. The list of recent crossover players includes Parker Braun.

This switch adds new intrigue to the Kansas–Missouri rivalry. KU Basketball fans will watch how the freshman Bryson Tiller adapts when he joins the Tigers.
