Father’s Heartfelt Plea After Beloved Dog Tragically Kills Teen Girl
A 19-year-old woman, Jamie-Lea, died after being attacked by the family dog at a home in Leaden Roding, Essex. Her father, 37-year-old Jack Biscoe, made the discovery late on Friday night.
What happened at the property
Biscoe returned home and saw his daughter lying motionless. He observed a bite wound to her neck and dialled emergency services at 10.45pm.
While he tried to revive Jamie-Lea, the dog attacked him. The animal bit part of his ear and injured his arm.
The animals involved
The dog is described as a female blue-merle Lurcher-cross called Shy. Biscoe said he bought her as a seven-week-old puppy.
Shy has two puppies, Bella and Mouse, aged about 18 months. The father said the younger dogs had witnessed the incident.
Family reaction and pleas
The bereaved father made a heartfelt public appeal to authorities. In his words to Filmogaz.com, he urged that Shy should be put down immediately.
He also said the puppies should not be rehomed. He described the animals as having “seen too much” to be placed with another family.
Investigation and legal steps
Police are conducting examinations to determine the dog’s precise breed. Forensic tests are under way to confirm which animal carried out the attack.
Biscoe was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death. He was released on bail on Saturday evening.
Medical and emergency response
Paramedics attended the scene and provided life-saving treatment. Despite their efforts and the father’s attempts, Jamie-Lea was pronounced dead at the scene.
Aftermath and fundraising
The family has launched a GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs. The father described losing his “entire life” after the tragedy.
The father’s heartfelt plea follows the shock that a beloved dog could so tragically kill a teen girl. Authorities continue their enquiries.
