Selma Blair’s Essentials: Bed Jackets, Beaches, and Sant Ambroeus
Selma Blair has teamed with Mersea to launch a sleepwear capsule inspired by her recovery from multiple sclerosis. The collection grew from a small act of kindness into a 14-piece line designed for comfort and style.
From diagnosis to creative collaboration
Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018. Early symptoms left her largely confined to bed with fatigue and muscle weakness.
When Mersea co-founders Lina Dickinson and Melanie Bolin sent travel-inspired pajamas and candles, the gift meant more than fashion. Blair told Filmogaz.com that the items felt nurturing and hopeful during a difficult time.
Design roots and the bed jacket
The collection draws on a personal heirloom. Blair found inspiration in her mother’s bed jacket, a mid-century loungewear staple she once wore out in New York.
She sketched multiple versions and selected a collared style named the Molly. The Molly arrives in pale pink and in midnight blue with red piping.
Key pieces and details
- 14-piece Sea La Vie capsule featuring satin pajamas and preppy cotton sets.
- Signature Kiss Kiss satin top styled with jeans and the blue bed jacket.
- Handwritten embroidery and lip-print motifs made the pieces feel personal.
- Scout, Blair’s service dog, appears with a coordinating bandana.
Philanthropy and advocacy
Mersea will donate 10 percent of the collection’s profits to the American Brain Foundation. Blair serves as the foundation’s Global Ambassador and National Chair for Brain Health.
She emphasized the importance of both research funding and reducing stigma around chronic illness. The collaboration ties fashion to a health-driven cause.
Launch and personal touches
The Sea La Vie collection debuts on April 14. It aims to offer luxury sleepwear that honors both glamour and self-care.
Blair also shared elements of her daily life, including favorite spots and recent reading. She described her current must-haves under the banner Selma Blair’s Essentials: Bed Jackets, Beaches, and Sant Ambroeus.
The line reaches beyond a celebrity capsule. It reflects lived experience and seeks to comfort people managing chronic conditions and those who simply want restful, elegant loungewear.
