Allin and Andrade Clash in Edmonton Trios Match on TSN

AEW Dynamite arrives live from Edmonton on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Tune in on TSN2, the TSN App, or TSN.ca for full coverage.

Trios match sets stage for larger stakes

The Don Callis Family will face Darby Allin, Bandido and Jack Perry. The Family group lists Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Davis. Don Callis and Lance Archer accompany them at ringside.

Allin and Andrade are central to a growing storyline. Allin has publicly challenged AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF agreed to a title fight only if Allin beats a Don Callis Family member. Andrade was named as that handpicked opponent.

Andrade’s recent form

Since returning, Andrade has been among AEW’s hottest competitors. He has losses only to “Hangman” Adam Page and Yota Tsuji in IWGP Global Heavyweight title action this year. His victories include Gabe Kidd, Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega.

Andrade partnered with Mark Davis to defeat Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz on Collision last Thursday. Takeshita recently fought to a 15-minute time-limit draw with Shota Umino at New Japan’s Sakura Genesis in Tokyo.

Allin’s allies and recent history

Bandido steps in as a late replacement for Brody King, who is out for a personal matter. Jack Perry and Bandido join Allin for the trios match. Allin seeks retribution after a post-match attack by Mark Davis on March 25.

The Toronto-born fanbase will watch to see which trio leaves Edmonton with momentum. The trios match provides a final preview before Sunday’s Dynasty pay-per-view in Vancouver.

TBS Championship: Nightingale vs. Aminata

Willow Nightingale defends the TBS Championship against the returning Queen Aminata. Nightingale lost the AEW Women’s World Tag Team titles last month. She captured the TBS title on December 31 by defeating Mercedes Mone.

Since winning the belt, Nightingale has recorded six successful defenses. Recent victims include Hikaru Shida, Lena Kross and CMLL champion Persephone.

Aminata’s comeback

Queen Aminata returns after a neck injury that sidelined her since late October. Her last AEW ring appearance was on the Oct. 29 edition of Dynamite. She has completed rehabilitation and received medical clearance.

The two women have met several times in tag matches. This Edmonton bout marks only their second singles meeting and their first head-to-head in over two years. Their singles record sits at one win each.

Jericho and Omega to address the audience

Chris Jericho made a brief return last week in his hometown of Winnipeg. It was his first AEW appearance in over a year. Jericho is scheduled to speak on Wednesday about his absence and return.

Kenny Omega will also take the mic. He recently teamed with Brody King and Jack Perry to defeat The Demand. Omega finished that match with a One-Winged Angel on Ricochet.

Omega will speak ahead of his AEW World Championship match against MJF at Dynasty. He seeks his first world title since 2021.
