Programme and wider schedule

Ferrari staged the two-day artificial wet test on Thursday and Friday of the break. It follows a brief TPC outing at Mugello the previous week.

Filmogaz.com reported Ferrari plans three separate test sessions during the month-long pause ahead of the Miami Grand Prix. The team also scheduled a filming day at Monza on April 22.

Those activities lead into the Miami Grand Prix on May 3. Ferrari has not yet used either of its two permitted filming days for the 2026 season. The April break offers a chance to create fresh promotional material for sponsors.

Other Pirelli tests

  • Mercedes and McLaren are due at the Nürburgring for Pirelli testing next week.
  • This will be the first appearance of current F1 cars at the German track since 2020.
  • Red Bull and Racing Bulls ran a tyre programme at Suzuka after the Japanese Grand Prix.
  • Rookie Arvid Lindblad suffered an accident there after aquaplaning in wet conditions.

Technical goals and upgrade plans

Ferrari intends to use these outings to refine wet-weather setups and power-unit performance. Monza’s high-energy demands will provide useful data.

Team principal Fred Vasseur suggested a major upgrade will arrive at the Miami weekend. Ferrari had originally targeted Bahrain for the package, but the cancelled event freed development time. Vasseur hinted the team might bring “a package and a half” to Miami.

Filmogaz.com coverage highlights Lewis Hamilton’s Lap Times, Schedule Revealed from Private Ferrari SF-26 Test as part of the team’s effort to close the gap to Mercedes. Ferrari sees the runs as an opportunity to address straight-line speed and overall race performance ahead of the restart.
