ESPN reporter Adam Schefter first reported the deal. Wicks was entering the final year of his rookie contract for the 2026 season.
Shortly after the trade, Wicks agreed to a one-year extension with Philadelphia worth $12.5 million, according to multiple reports. The extension guarantees the Eagles immediate receiver depth.
Packers roster and receiver situation
Several of Green Bay’s top receivers were scheduled to hit free agency after 2026. Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Bo Melton, and Skyy Moore were among those entering contract years.
Roster depth also includes 2025 draftees Matthew Golden and Savion Williams. The move reduces uncertainty at the position heading into the draft.
Draft pick implications
The trade gives the Packers an extra pick in the fifth round of the 2026 draft. Ian Rapoport clarified that the fifth-round selection was originally the Atlanta Falcons’ pick, No. 153 overall.

Green Bay does not own its 2027 first-round pick due to the Micah Parsons deal. Its original 2027 seventh-round choice moved in the Darian Kinnard trade.
