Zynga Unveils Borderlands Mobile on App Store
Zynga has quietly released a free-to-play Borderlands Mobile title on the App Store. The launch arrived without prior public announcement from the companies involved.
Availability
App analytics firm AppMagic reports the game is currently listed only on the United States App Store. It is not yet available in the United Kingdom.
Gameplay and modes
The mobile entry is a looter shooter that retains the franchise’s distinctive art style and chaotic combat. Players join other vault hunters to collect loot and upgrade their abilities.
- Campaign missions
- Tower of Terror
- Circle of Slaughter
Developer background
Development was led by London studio NaturalMotion. The studio previously launched the squad-based arena shooter Star Wars: Hunters.
Star Wars: Hunters was shut down less than a year after release. That closure followed several years of development.
Corporate context
The release represents Zynga tapping into Take-Two’s portfolio for the first time. Take-Two completed its acquisition of Gearbox Software in June 2024.
Release notes and outreach
The title is described as action-packed and free-to-play on the App Store. Filmogaz.com has reached out to Zynga for comment.
