Assault, Stalking Charges Filed Against Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham’s Alleged Attacker

Nearly a week after a former Fleetwood Mac guitarist was struck with an unknown substance outside a California office, prosecutors filed seven charges against the suspected assailant. The musician, Lindsey Buckingham, was attacked when he arrived for an appointment in Santa Monica. Authorities say the suspect fled the scene.

Charges and warrant

Court documents obtained by Filmogaz.com list seven counts against Michelle Dick. The charges include two counts of stalking and two counts of threats to commit a crime with intent to terrorize.

She also faces one count each of assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and battery. The alleged offenses span from October 2021 through last month. A warrant has been issued for Dick’s arrest. She has not yet been detained.

Santa Monica incident

Law enforcement sources say the alleged attacker threw an unknown substance at Buckingham outside an office in Santa Monica. The woman immediately fled before officers arrived.

Local reporting identified the suspect as someone previously described in police records as a stalking suspect.

History of alleged harassment

Buckingham’s court filings say the harassment began in 2021. The petition states the woman obtained his wife Kristen’s business phone number and called repeatedly. Messages allegedly included claims she was Buckingham’s child and threats against him and his family.

In September 2024, the filings say the suspect taped a photographic collage to Buckingham’s residence. The next day, officers stopped her parked outside his home. During questioning she told police Buckingham was her birth father and accused him of suffocating her as a child.

November 2024 police response

On Nov. 3, buckingham said police arrived at his house after a 9-1-1 call. He reports being handcuffed and led outside while officers investigated a claim his son William was suicidal and that gunshots were heard. The call later became part of his restraining order petition.

Restraining order and court action

Buckingham filed for a restraining order in December 2024. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge granted the request.

The order requires Dick to remain at least 100 yards away from Buckingham and his family. It also bars her from contacting or harassing them in any way.

Statements from the parties

Michelle Dick has publicly said she believes Buckingham is her biological father. She told a local station she approached him recently and had visited his Brentwood home previously.

In his petition, Buckingham described the woman as delusional and mentally unfit. He said he fears her behavior could turn physically dangerous for him and his family.

The case combines stalking charges with an assault count related to the most recent Santa Monica incident. Authorities continue to seek Dick for arrest while the investigation proceeds.
