Pokémon Champions arrives on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2026. The title is free-to-start and focuses on competitive battles.

What the game is

Developed by The Pokémon Company, this spin-off centers on online fights. It removes exploration and narrative elements to prioritize matches.

Players can engage in solo and duo battles. There are ranked matches, private rooms, and official tournaments.

Victories award Points de Victoire, a currency used to recruit additional Pokémon. Points also improve Pokémon abilities for ladder progression.

A paid Starter Pack offers extra storage and cosmetic items. The core competitive content remains free for all players.

The game is available at no cost on the Nintendo eShop. Crossplay with iOS and Android is planned later in 2026.

Pokémon Champions will serve as an official tournament hub. It will support the Pokémon World Championships 2026 in San Francisco.
