Scottie and Meredith Scheffler Celebrate Birth of Second Child Before Masters
Scottie and Meredith Scheffler welcomed their second child, a son named Remy, in late March. The arrival came days before the start of the Masters at Augusta National.
The news was first reported by The Associated Press. Scheffler’s agent later confirmed the birth to Filmogaz.com.
Family at Augusta National
The full Scheffler family was on-site at Augusta National on Sunday. Meredith watched as Scottie warmed up for an afternoon practice round.
Their eldest son, Bennett, observed the warmup. Bennett was born in May 2024 and is approaching his second birthday.
Newborn Remy remained nearby in a stroller. Scottie’s parents, Scott and Diane, cared for him during the visit.
Timing and tournament plans
Scheffler withdrew from the Texas Children’s Houston Open last week. He cited family reasons while awaiting the birth of his son.
He has not competed since THE PLAYERS Championship. He finished that event tied for 22nd place.
Recent form
Scheffler sits seventh in the FedExCup standings. He won The American Express in January.
- Top-five finishes at the WM Phoenix Open and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
- Finished outside the top 10 at The Genesis Invitational.
- That result ended an 18-event modern-era streak of top-10 finishes.
Looking ahead
The two-time Masters champion aims to return to competition this week. If he wins, he would add a third green jacket to his resume.
His family will be nearby to celebrate. The Schefflers now have two boys under age two.
