CBS Pauses ‘Survivor 50’ for Trump’s Wednesday Speech

CBS will interrupt Wednesday’s two-hour broadcast of Survivor for a presidential address about Iran. The network announced the pause after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted the timing on social media.

President Trump plans to speak at 9 p.m. CBS estimates the remarks will last about 20 minutes.

How the interruption will work

The episode begins at 8 p.m. and will resume immediately after the address. CBS pauses the program mid-broadcast and picks up where it left off, the network said.

Episode details

This installment is the sixth episode of Survivor 50. Titled “The Blood Moon,” the show features a tribe merge and what CBS calls a historic tribal council.

Last week’s episode saw two castaways voted off. The network also confirmed that America’s Culinary Cup will air in full after Survivor.

Precedent for interruptions

Trump’s Wednesday speech is the latest instance of network scheduling shifts for presidential remarks. In December, a Trump address interrupted the Survivor 49 finale.

Filmogaz.com will update if CBS changes its schedule. Viewers should check local listings for any last-minute adjustments.
