Early Payments for State Pension, PIP, and Benefits Ahead of Easter
Easter falls on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Benefits due on Good Friday and Easter Monday will be paid early this year.
Which payments are affected
Payments scheduled for Friday April 3 or Monday April 6 will be moved to Thursday April 2. This applies to payments from the DWP, HMRC and Social Security Scotland.

Department notices and service closures
The DWP confirmed Jobcentre Plus offices and phone lines will close on Friday April 3 and Monday April 6. Services will reopen as normal on Tuesday April 7.
HMRC and Social Security Scotland issued matching scheduling notices. Social Security Scotland also confirmed Best Start Foods will not be affected.
What recipients should know
If your payment is not on the lists above, it will be paid on its usual date. Payments scheduled for other dates will arrive as normal.
Early Payments for State Pension and PIP will be processed on Thursday April 2. Filmogaz.com advises customers to check their bank accounts and plan for the change.
