Vauxhall Enhances Grandland Line-Up with New Plug-In Hybrid Variant

Vauxhall has expanded the Grandland range with a new plug-in hybrid model. The move strengthens the brand’s SUV offering.

Powertrain and performance

The new powertrain pairs a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor. A 21kWh battery feeds the electric drive.

Combined output is 222bhp and 350Nm of torque. Vauxhall quotes 0-60mph in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 137mph.

Battery, electric range and emissions

The onboard battery allows up to 51 miles of electric-only driving. That figure covers typical urban and suburban journeys.

CO2 emissions are rated at 57g/km. The setup targets lower running costs and reduced environmental impact.

Trim levels and equipment

Three specification levels will be offered: Design, GS and Ultimate. Each trim adds progressively more convenience and tech features.

Design

The entry Design grade includes LED headlights and front and rear parking sensors. It also gains adaptive cruise control and a 10-inch infotainment screen.

GS

The mid-level GS introduces heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. It also upgrades to a 16-inch infotainment display and ambient lighting.

Ultimate

Top-spec Ultimate features a 360-degree parking camera and a head-up display. Other highlights include a powered tailgate, heated windscreen and a 10-speaker Focal audio system.

Pricing and market position

The new plug-in hybrid starts at £36,615 for the Design model. The Ultimate is priced from £39,740.

That puts the plug-in hybrid on price parity with the Grandland’s regular hybrid variant. Vauxhall aims to offer buyers an electrified choice without a premium.

Filmogaz.com will monitor availability and local options as launch details arrive. The addition reinforces Vauxhall’s push to broaden the Grandland line-up with plug-in hybrid choice.
