Claire Hutton Joins USWNT Roster for April Friendlies Against Japan
U.S. Soccer announced on April 1, 2026 that Bay FC midfielder Claire Hutton has been added to the USWNT roster for the April international window. The call-up covers a three-game friendly series against Japan. The matches are in San Jose, Seattle and Commerce City, Colo.
Schedule and broadcast details
The series opens April 11 at PayPal Park in San Jose. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m. PT. The match airs on TNT, truTV and HBO Max in English, and on Universo and Peacock in Spanish.
Game two is April 14 at Lumen Field in Seattle. Kickoff is 7 p.m. PT with the same TV platforms. The final game is April 17 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. Kickoff is 6 p.m. PT and broadcast details mirror the previous contests.
All three matches will also be available in English on Westwood One radio.

Hutton’s season and national team form
This marks Hutton’s third selection to the U.S. senior squad in 2026. She joined the team for friendlies against Paraguay and Chile in January. She also featured at the 2026 SheBelieves Cup in February and March.
Hutton has four caps in 2026, including two starts. She captained the team at age 20 on January 24, becoming the youngest-ever U.S. captain.
On March 26, Hutton signed a new five-year contract with Bay FC, extending through the 2030 NWSL season. She has started the season strongly.

Hutton ranks among NWSL leaders in tackles won (9), duels won (27) and interceptions (8). Bay FC opened the season with two wins in three matches. The club returns to PayPal Park April 5 to host the Washington Spirit.

The April series arrives weeks after both nations claimed trophies. Japan won the AFC Women’s Asian Cup on March 21 in Sydney. That victory secured Japan’s continental crown and a 2027 Women’s World Cup berth.
