Space Force Invites Proposals for Cutting-Edge Space Systems Development
The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command has launched a NITE-STAR solicitation. It seeks industry partners to enhance the National Space Test and Training Complex.
Program and contract overview
NITE-STAR stands for National Space Test and Training Complex Innovative Technology & Engineering – Space Test and Range. The programme could yield a multiple-award IDIQ contract worth up to $981 million over ten years.
The award structure includes a five-year base period and one five-year option. Space Systems Command aims to fill positions by 1 July 2026.
Scope of work
The contract will support space test and training infrastructure across ranges, satellites, ground systems, and digital environments. Contractors will provide both software and hardware capabilities.
On the hardware side, tasks include design, construction, and delivery of satellites, spacecraft payloads, ground stations, sensors, telescopes, and command-and-control systems. The work supports cutting-edge space systems development for test and training missions.
