Bitdeer to Jointly Build 180 MW AI Data Center in Norway

Filmogaz.com reports Bitdeer Technologies Group will partner to develop a large AI data center in Norway. The planned facility is designed with a 180 MW capacity.

Bitdeer is headquartered in Singapore. The company specializes in artificial intelligence infrastructure and Bitcoin mining equipment.

Project partners and scope

Bitdeer’s subsidiary Tydal Data Center AS has signed an agreement with Data Center Installations AS. The partners will convert the existing Tydal site into an AI-focused facility.

Data Center Installations will lead the conversion work. The center is intended mainly for co-location use.

Technology and tenants

The facility will be built to accommodate Nvidia Vera Rubin AI systems. Design and deployment will follow Nvidia reference architecture.

Co-location capacity aims to attract large AI compute tenants. The setup targets growing demand for advanced data center capabilities.

Timeline and significance

Completion is expected by December 2026. Once operational, the Tydal site should become Norway’s largest AI data center.

The center will also rank among Europe’s largest by installed capacity. The project may significantly expand regional AI infrastructure.

Leadership comment

Haakon Bryhni, chairman and co-founder of Tydal Data Center AS, said the project will increase AI capacity. He added it addresses rising demand for sophisticated data center services.
