Coronation Street and Emmerdale Reschedule Tonight’s Episodes Amid Schedule Change
ITV1 has pulled both Coronation Street and Emmerdale from their usual Friday slots. The change clears room for England’s friendly against Uruguay at Wembley.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale Reschedule Tonight’s Episodes Amid Schedule Change, with ITV confirming altered broadcast times. Coverage will begin at 7pm for a 7:45pm kick-off on Friday 27 March.
Sunday replacement episodes
ITV has added extra episodes on Sunday 29 March. Emmerdale will air at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street at 7.30pm.
This ensures viewers still receive five instalments this week. Both programmes will be shown on ITV1 on Sunday evening.
Reason for the disruption
The Friday gap exists because England are hosting Uruguay in a friendly. The match is part of preparations for World Cup 2026.
England forward Marcus Rashford is among the squad named for the fixture. Historically, the Two teams have been competitive, with England winning only once in their last six meetings.
Coronation Street storyline impact
Coronation Street continues the Mal Roper plotline. Actor Tim Treloar plays the stalker Mal.
An ITVX early release revealed Mal experiencing a flashback. He appears to misidentify the person who attacked him.
Emmerdale storyline impact
Emmerdale scenes focus on Kim Tate’s estate plans. Claire King’s Kim has decided to leave Home Farm to Lydia Dingle, played by Karen Blick.
Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous, is unhappy to learn his home will be taken from under him. The change fuels ongoing family tensions at Home Farm.
Where to watch and more information
Normally, Emmerdale airs at 8pm and Coronation Street follows at 8.30pm on weeknights. Both titles are also available to stream on ITVX.
