Peter Ash is back on television in a new role. The actor, best known as Paul Foreman on Coronation Street, appears in Channel 5’s drama The Teacher.
From Coronation Street to a new screen role
Ash spent six years playing Paul Foreman on the ITV soap. He left Coronation Street in September 2024 after a powerful storyline.
The character died following a 17-month battle with Motor Neurone Disease. Coronation Street worked with the MND Association for accuracy.
The plot explored the impact of the illness on husband Billy Mayhew, mother Bernie Winter, sister Gemma Winter, and friend Summer Spellman.

The Teacher returns on Monday 30th March at 9pm on Channel 5. Victoria Hamilton now headlines as Helen Simpson.
Series one premiered in 2022 with Sheridan Smith. The second series featured Kara Tointon.
Ash joins the third run as Sebastian Blake, a faculty member who interviewed for Helen’s post. He shared images from set and praised the cast and crew.

After leaving the soap, Ash performed in pantomime in Oldham. He also toured last year in Peter James’s stage adaptation Picture You Dead.
