A Houston police K-9 officer was hurt in a crash in Downtown Houston around midnight Saturday. The officer had been responding to assist units involved in a pursuit near Allen Parkway and Dunlavy Street.

Police say the patrol vehicle was headed south on Smith Street. A civilian car traveling west on Pease Street collided with the patrol unit. The patrol vehicle flipped and rolled for nearly an entire block.
