Bezzecchi Secures Fifth Consecutive Win at MotoGP United States GP

Marco Bezzecchi reclaimed the lead in the 2026 MotoGP standings with a dominant victory in Austin. The 27-year-old started fourth and moved past early leader Pedro Acosta on the opening lap. At the MotoGP United States GP, Bezzecchi added a fifth consecutive win to his tally.

Race dynamics

Pedro Acosta grabbed the holeshot from second on the grid. Polesitter Fabio di Giannantonio slipped back to fourth in the opening exchanges. Bezzecchi surged into the lead after a close contact with Acosta at the exit of Turn 11.

The leading trio ran closely for much of the race. On lap six of 20, Bezzecchi increased his pace and opened an advantage. His gap grew from around eight tenths to more than a second.

Key moves and incidents

Jorge Martin started seventh and had a scare at Turn 1 on lap seven. He recovered and eventually capitalised when Acosta ran deep at the same corner on lap 14. Martin closed to within a second late in the race but Bezzecchi responded and finished roughly two seconds clear.

Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura was in contention for a podium. A technical problem with his satellite Aprilia with five laps remaining ended that bid. Di Giannantonio moved up to fourth as a result.
