Overall numbers and pass statistics

A total of 15,12,687 candidates appeared for the matric exams this year. The cohort included 7,85,726 girls and 7,26,961 boys. Overall pass percentage stood at 81.79%.

In absolute terms, 1,235,743 students passed the exam. Of these, 601,390 were male and 634,353 were female. Female students outperformed male students in the aggregate pass figures this year.

Divisions and ranks

Division-wise tallies released by the board showed three categories. First Division: Boys 234,501; Girls 209,222; Total 443,723. Second Division: Boys 225,011; Girls 250,500; Total 475,511.

Third Division numbers were Boys 135,676 and Girls 167,427, totaling 303,103. The board also reported 126 students listed in the top-10 group. Thirteen students appeared in the top-five list.

Toppers and awards

Two students shared the top rank this year: Puspanjali Kumari and Savreen Parveen. The toppers scored 98.4 percent. Nahid Sultana of Begusarai secured the second spot with 489 out of 500 marks.

The board announced cash awards for top positions. First place receives ₹2 lakh, second gets ₹1.5 lakh, and third receives ₹1 lakh. The top-10 candidates will also receive a laptop, a prashasti patr and a medal.

Students unhappy with marks can apply for re-evaluation of theory answer sheets. The process is subject to a prescribed fee. Practical and internal marks are not eligible for revaluation.

Applications for special and compartmental exams will open from April 1 to April 7, 2026. Candidates who miss passing by narrow margins may be considered for grace marks in certain cases.
