MAFS’ Sam Stanton Thought He and Gia Fleur Were Friends Until Airing

MAFS’ Sam Stanton Thought He and Gia Fleur Were Friends Until Airing

Friendship and behind-the-scenes contact

Production rules limited contact between cast members. Sam said he largely followed those rules during the experiment. He described Gia as Chris Robinson’s main sounding board on set.

Chris and Gia developed a close bond during filming. Sam noticed Chris calling Gia often for advice. That connection became a focal point when tensions rose.

Unseen footage and on-screen criticism

Additional footage aired on MAFS: After The Dinner Party. That material showed Gia and Chris in a confessional criticising Sam. They questioned his living arrangements and lifestyle choices.

Sam said seeing those scenes felt especially hurtful. He was surprised by how harsh and persistent some comments appeared. He also insisted many on-screen claims were inaccurate.

Commitment Ceremony and reunion dynamics

Sam said he defended Gia during a Commitment Ceremony. He also spoke with her at the reunion and offered praise for her accountability. At the same time, he maintained a friendship with Bec Zacharia.

He rejected the idea the season boiled down to a simple two-versus-two split. Sam acknowledged, though, that Gia often sided with Chris during confrontations. He contrasted that with his request for balanced input from Bec.

Responses and aftermath

Gia has not publicly replied to Sam’s comments. Chris later told Filmogaz.com he now shares his home with a housemate. He described his earlier remarks about shared accommodation as a poor moment.

Sam said he wasn’t shocked after learning more about the relationships behind the scenes. Still, he called the experience worse than he initially expected.
