Salt-N-Pepa, TLC, En Vogue Unite for Iconic Summer Tour
Three landmark R&B groups from the 1990s are set to tour together this summer. Salt-N-Pepa, TLC and En Vogue will perform at amphitheaters across the United States.
Performance concept
The artists plan a continuous, mixtape-style presentation. Sets will flow into one another without traditional openers or closers.
Expect rapid transitions between signature songs such as “Shoop,” “Waterfalls,” and “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It).” Members will rotate on and off stage throughout the show.
Lineups and background
Salt-N-Pepa reconciled with longtime DJ Spinderella. She will join the act on the tour after a period of estrangement and legal disputes.
En Vogue will feature three classic-era members: Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones. Dawn Robinson has not performed with them since 2011.
TLC will appear as a duo. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas continue the group’s legacy after Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ death in 2002. The duo often includes archival video tributes to Left Eye in performance.
Artists’ views
Cheryl “Salt” James described strong excitement for the run and said the group feels its legacy is secure. Terry Ellis spoke about the themes of resilience and empowerment reflected in the music.
Chilli noted her preference for much of the show coming from the 1990s. She also remarked on younger audience members knowing the songs word for word.
Rehearsal and preparation
Rehearsals are scheduled for July ahead of the tour. The artists plan focused training, including disciplined rehearsal days, cleaner diets, and fitness work.
