Construction Advances on Luxury Health and Wellness Club

Construction Advances on Luxury Health and Wellness Club

David Lloyd Clubs has secured planning permission for a new facility in Wintringham, off Nuffield Road in St Neots. Construction on the site began towards the end of last year.

Timeline and opening

The club is scheduled to open in Autumn 2026. Construction advances on the site reflect plans for a regional luxury health and wellness club.

Premises licence application

The operator has submitted a premises licence application to Huntingdonshire District Council. The application seeks permission for occasional regulated entertainment.

  • Planned entertainment includes films, indoor sporting events, live and recorded music, and dance.
  • Requested hours for these activities are 10am to 11pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Hours would extend to 1am on Fridays and Sundays if approved.

Alcohol and late-night refreshment

The club has asked to serve alcohol for on-site and off-site consumption. The proposed alcohol hours match the entertainment hours.

The operator also requests a late-night refreshment extension for New Year’s Eve. That variation would run from 11am until 5am the following morning.

Facilities and programmes

The company describes more than 100 exercise classes each week as the venue’s centrepiece. The timetable will cover a wide range of fitness offerings.

  • Heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
  • Indoor tennis courts and outdoor padel courts.
  • A spa retreat with a Himalayan salt sauna, a fire and ice room, a rainforest experience shower, and a citrus steam room.

Transport, parking and jobs

The site will include a 225-space car park. Bays will include disabled, parent-and-child, and EV charging provision.

Cycle spaces are also planned. The business expects to employ between 80 and 100 local people once open.

Public consultation

The licensing consultation is open and runs until April 15, 2026. Members of the public can submit representations via the licensing portal on the Huntingdonshire District Council website.
