Kelly Osbourne Today: BRIT Awards, Ozzy's Lifetime Achievement, and Body Shaming Clap-Back
Kelly Osbourne is dominating headlines this weekend in one of the most emotionally charged stories of the year. The 41-year-old walked the BRIT Awards red carpet on February 28, 2026 ET — just days after publicly blasting body shamers — to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her late father Ozzy Osbourne alongside her mother Sharon.
Kelly Osbourne at the 2026 BRIT Awards: A Night for Ozzy
Kelly Osbourne walked the red carpet with confidence at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester, England on February 28, just days after speaking out about the "disgusting" and "abusive" body shaming she has been experiencing amid her recent weight loss.
The 41-year-old rocked a sleek, floor-length velvet gown with a corseted bodice and spaghetti straps, and brought the drama with a black feathered bolero jacket on top. She accessorized with a stack of necklaces, including a cross and an "O," likely in homage to her late dad Ozzy Osbourne.
She was joined on the carpet by members of Ozzy's former band including Zakk Wylde, Tommy Clufetos, Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, and singer Robbie Williams, who was set to lead a tribute to Ozzy during the event.
Sharon and Kelly Accept Ozzy's Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award
The emotional high point of the entire BRIT Awards evening belonged to the Osbourne family. Sharon and Kelly Osbourne took to the stage at the 2026 BRIT Awards to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Ozzy Osbourne, in one of the evening's most emotional moments.
The moment began with a moving video montage charting Ozzy's rise from Birmingham's working-class streets to becoming one of rock's most recognisable icons, followed by a surprise pre-recorded video message from Dolly Parton speaking from Nashville.
Sharon said onstage: "I'm honoured to accept this award for my gorgeous husband. God knows I wish he was here to accept it himself." Kelly then added: "He may not be here, but he left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him." Robbie Williams then led a star-studded musical tribute, performing in front of a giant image of Ozzy projected across the stage.
Kelly Osbourne Fires Back at Body Shamers After Weight Loss Criticism
The body-shaming storm began after Kelly attended London Fashion Week wearing a purple gown with sheer sleeves and sparkling sequins. Online commenters posted that she looked "like a dead body" and told her to "ditch the Ozempic, eat a burger."
Kelly responded publicly: "Literally can't believe how disgusting some human beings truly are. No one deserves this sort of abuse! This too shall pass, but like, holy f***."
Kelly was especially disheartened by the source of the cruelty. "The thing that I find the most disappointing in all of this is that most of the comments are coming from grown-ass women," she said. "Women that say they're counselors, women that are mothers. They'd rather tear them down when their dad just died. It's disgusting, and I've had enough of it."
Kelly had previously undergone gastric sleeve surgery in 2018 but said she did not follow post-surgery guidelines and stopped losing weight as a result. Her visible transformation since losing her father has been at the center of an ongoing public debate about grief, body image, and online cruelty.
Kelly Osbourne's Year of Grief: From Grammys to BRITs
Just one month earlier, Kelly attended the 2026 Grammys alongside her fiancé Sid Wilson, Sharon, and brother Jack Osbourne, debuting a new blonde hairstyle with bangs and a retro flip.
At the Grammys red carpet, Kelly admitted she was "not doing so great," saying: "It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life, but I'm getting through — and we're doing everything we can to try and just live in his legacy and be happy." Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025 at age 76 following a cardiac arrest at his Buckinghamshire home. The BRIT Awards marked the family's most public tribute to him since his passing.
