Scary Movie 6: 'scary movie 6' Spoofs 'Sinners', 'Weapons', and 'A Quiet Place' [Exclusive]

Paramount Pictures is rolling out the first trailer this week for scary movie 6, and the studio’s early footage teases a broad slate of parodies that includes Terrifier 3, Sinners, Weapons and A Quiet Place. The film does not arrive in theaters until June 12, 2026, but the campaign has already sparked conversation.

What the trailer teases

The initial material shared ahead of Scream 7 promises lampooning of Terrifier 3 and a direct nod to the franchise’s infamous mall Santa moment in which Art the Clown blows up a bunch of children. The marketing push begins this week with Paramount Pictures sharing the first trailer, and the trailer is scheduled to hit this Friday.

Scary Movie 6 Parodies Named Films

Sources within production detail that Scary Movie 6 will parody Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, Zach Cregger’s Weapons and Platinum Dunes’ A Quiet Place. The Weapons spoof reportedly includes a moment in which the Wayans harpoon Aunt Gladys, a beat insiders singled out as a likely highlight, with particular curiosity about what the filmmakers will do with the bell. The A Quiet Place sendup is expected to include a planned fart joke.

Cast, Cameos and Callbacks

The returning ensemble is described as massive: Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Regina Hall reunite with Anna Faris, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott and Jon Abrahams. Newly added roles include Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans and Heidi Gardner, among others. A previously reported sequence brings Felissa Rose into a Terrifier 3 parody that skewers the mall scene in which Art the Clown blows up a group of children; that sequence was initially cut from the film but has since been reinstated in a trimmed-down edit.

In that Terrifier 3 parody, Rose is described as being drenched in blood during the scene, which also features an appearance by Terrifier producer Michael Leavy. Rose also appeared in Terrifier 2, and Leavy played Will the exterminator in the first film, a pairing production insiders call an extra fun callback.

Controversial Footage and Mask

Behind the scenes there are reports the production may have filmed material some consider particularly controversial. It is unclear whether the material appears in the final cut, but a person familiar with the production says that in the Sinners parody the killer’s Ghostface-inspired mask may depict blackface imagery. That detail has been described as a possible source of contention as editing continues.

Production, Writers and Release

The Wayans brothers returned not only as on-screen talent but as architects of the project: Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans wrote the script alongside longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez, who is also producing. Last year Marlon Wayans told EW he promised Scary Movie 6 would be “no holds barred and equal opportunity offenders. ” He added, “It’s how we always do it. We just want to make everybody laugh, and we don’t care if you’re sensitive. Even sensitive people need to laugh at themselves. ”

Paramount will release Scary Movie 6 in theaters on June 12, 2026. The marketing rollout—beginning with the trailer set to arrive this Friday—kicks off well ahead of Scream 7.
