Metallica Sphere residency announced with eight October shows and presale details

Metallica will bring its “Life Burns Faster” residency to the metallica sphere in Las Vegas with eight shows in October 2026, and SiriusXM listeners get a special presale starting March 5. The announcement lays out dates, ticket windows and programming tied to the run.

The eight-show engagement—titled “Life Burns Faster”—is scheduled for Oct. 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31, 2026 at Sphere in Las Vegas. The run will continue the band’s “No Repeat Weekend” format: no songs repeated on each Thursday and Saturday pairing, a tradition that began with the 2023 kick-off of Metallica’s M72 World Tour.

Ticket schedule, SiriusXM presale and public on-sale

SiriusXM listeners can access presale tickets on Thursday, March 5 starting at 10 a. m. PT – Thursday, March 5 at 10 p. m. PT using code SIRIUSXM. Two-night No Repeat Weekend packages and single-night tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 6 at 10 a. m. PT. The residency will feature live staples and surprises from Metallica’s catalog enhanced by Sphere’s immersive technologies. The venue’s features cited for the production include the world’s highest resolution LED display that wraps up, over and around the audience; Sphere Immersive Sound, delivering audio to every guest; and multi-sensory 4D technology. The band lineup for the run is James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.

Drummer Lars Ulrich said the idea for the residency took hold early: “About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ’23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’ This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”

The calendar for the residency allows expansion into December should the dates merit that demand. It was noted that plans for October and also December were in motion earlier in the year and that the deal was signed months ago. The production timing will coincide with the 40th anniversary of Master of Puppets, identified as the band’s first gold album.
