Miami Dolphins Release Former Chiefs Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill After Four Seasons

The Miami Dolphins have decided to part ways with veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill after four seasons with the team. This announcement was made on Monday by NFL Network.

Tyreek Hill’s Career Overview

Hill, who is now 31 years old, faced significant challenges during the 2025 season. He played in only four games before suffering a severe knee injury that required season-ending surgery. This injury included a dislocated left knee and a torn ACL.

Transition to Free Agency

Following his release, Hill will enter the unrestricted free agent market for the first time in his NFL career. His departure from the Dolphins coincides with the team also moving on from veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb.

A Star’s Journey in the NFL

Tyreek Hill began his NFL journey as a fifth-round draft pick for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016. He quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the league, forming an impressive partnership with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Achievements with the Chiefs

  • Four seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards.
  • Part of the Chiefs’ victory at Super Bowl LIV in 2020.

In March 2022, Hill was traded to the Dolphins. Miami made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at that time, signing him to a four-year, $120 million contract.

Statistics with the Dolphins

During his first season with the Dolphins, Hill achieved a career-high of 1,710 receiving yards on 119 catches. In 2023, he recorded another impressive season with 119 catches, leading the league with 1,799 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns.

However, in 2024, he was limited to 959 yards, and the Dolphins missed the playoffs. Hill’s injury ultimately curtailed his tenure with the team, leading to his release.
