PS5 Exclusive Action Series Debuts Unique New Game Installment
PlayStation has announced an exciting new title for its popular Horizon franchise. Titled “Horizon Hunters Gathering,” this co-op action game is set to launch for the PS5 and PC. The game allows players to team up as hunters to engage in challenging battles against machines.

The announcement was made by Guerrilla Games, with Game Director Arjan Bak highlighting the game’s foundation. He emphasized the team’s heritage from their previous work on the Killzone series. The gameplay centers on “challenging and replayable hunts,” and the project aims to bring players closer to the Horizon universe.
Game Modes
“Horizon Hunters Gathering” will feature multiple gameplay modes. Two of the initial modes revealed include:
- Machine Incursion: Players will face waves of machines, culminating in a battle against a powerful boss.
- Cauldron Descent: This mode presents players with a multi-stage trial characterized by “ever-changing rooms,” offering a roguelite experience.
Diverse Hunter Characters
Players can select from a variety of Hunters, each equipped with unique playstyles. The game also introduces a rogue-lite perk system, allowing for diverse gameplay experiences tailored to individual preferences.
Narrative Campaign
In addition to its multiplayer components, “Horizon Hunters Gathering” includes a narrative campaign. Guerrilla promises new mysteries, characters, and threats, although specific details remain undisclosed.
Playtest Information
A closed playtest is set to take place soon for participants in the PlayStation Beta Program. This opportunity will be available for players on both PS5 and PC, allowing early access to the exciting new installment in the Horizon series.
