Mark Ruffalo has addressed rumors surrounding his alleged dismissal by Disney and Marvel Studios. In a recent Instagram video, he was directly questioned about these claims. Ruffalo responded with a smile, stating, “Not that I know of. People keep going like, ‘Did you get fired?’ Not that I know of!”

His fellow Marvel co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry have publicly backed him. Hemsworth dismissed the rumors as “nonsense.” Meanwhile, Berry expressed her support, saying, “We would protest.” Both actors have worked with Ruffalo in the upcoming film, Crime 101.

Ruffalo’s Relationship with Marvel

Ruffalo emphasized that he maintains a positive relationship with Marvel Studios. He alluded to potential future projects, stating, “I’ll be there as long as they’ll have me. Who knows, there might be things I’m already doing that… [Laughs] I’m around, let me just say that.”

Origins of the Rumors

The rumors about Ruffalo’s firing began after he made remarks at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. There, he criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and former President Donald Trump. This commentary followed the tragic shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman killed by an ICE agent on January 7.

During the event, Ruffalo described the situation as troubling and referred to ICE agents as “literal stormtroopers.” He also condemned Trump harshly, calling him a “convicted felon” and labeling his moral leadership as disastrous for the nation.

Current Status

As of now, there has been no official statement from Disney or Marvel concerning Ruffalo’s employment status. He has portrayed Bruce Banner/The Hulk since 2012’s The Avengers and is expected to reprise his role in future projects, including the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release in July.
