Seattle Homeless Camp Incident: Man Stabbed by Unknown Assailant, Suspect at Large

Seattle police are investigating after a man suffered a chest wound in an early-morning stabbing near a tent encampment. Officers found the victim on the 1700 block of North 107th Street at about 8:50 a.m. Monday.

What happened

Responding officers discovered a man with a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Medical staff listed him in stable condition.

The Seattle Police Department described the attack as a “stranger on stranger” assault. The incident occurred on the border of a nearby tent encampment in the area.

Suspect and search

Witnesses and officers reported the suspect fled before police arrived. Authorities believe the suspect is in his 30s. Officers searched the neighborhood but were unable to locate him.

The suspect remains at large. Investigators have not released a suspect name or motive.
