Top 6 Cornerback Prospects for Patriots in NFL Draft

Top 6 Cornerback Prospects for Patriots in NFL Draft

The 2026 NFL Draft arrives in less than 10 days. The New England Patriots hold the 31st overall pick after two straight years of top-five selections.

Cornerback is not projected to be a pressing need. New England returns its top three starters. Still, the team could add late-round depth at the position.

Cornerback room status

Christian Gonzalez remains under contract but has not signed a long-term extension. The 24-year-old is expected to lead the secondary next season.

Carlton Davis and Marcus Jones join Gonzalez. That trio formed the core in New England’s run to the Super Bowl.

Depth behind them is less certain. Charles Woods earned snaps after being claimed on waivers last summer. He became a rotational boundary corner and a special teams contributor.

Kobee Minor, the most recent Mr. Irrelevant, and Marcellas Dial Jr., a 2024 sixth-rounder who missed last year with a torn ACL, figure into depth plans. The Patriots also signed Kindle Vildor in free agency. Brandon Crossley remains on the roster after a rookie season split between practice squad and active roster.

Scouting fits and class evaluation

Personnel executive Eliot Wolf has said the secondary is not a strength of this draft class. That comment increases the value of finding developmental pieces late.

With that context, here are the top prospects the Patriots could target at cornerback. The list highlights top six candidates to consider for New England in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Daylen Everette — Georgia

Everette was a five-star recruit and started three seasons for the Bulldogs. He pairs size with 4.38 speed and offers immediate depth with upside as a perimeter defender. Consensus ranking: 108.

Charles Demmings — Stephen F. Austin

Demmings started four years and produced heavily. He totaled 35 pass breakups and nine interceptions. His length and physical play profile him as a developmental boundary corner. Consensus ranking: 157.

T.J. Hall — Iowa

Hall brings physicality and strong zone instincts. He helps as a run-support tackler but can be exposed downfield in man coverage. He can contribute in match and zone schemes. Consensus ranking: 170.

Thaddeus Dixon — North Carolina

Dixon worked under Bill Belichick last season and previously with Steve Belichick at Washington. He recorded 24 pass breakups over three seasons and flashed at the Senior Bowl. He missed half of last year with an injury and must polish tackling. Consensus ranking: 199.

Devon Marshall — NC State

Marshall grew up in Massachusetts and attended Catholic Memorial. He attended the Patriots’ Local Pro Day this spring. Though smaller and an average athlete, he led the FBS in pass breakups last season and showed reliable coverage. Consensus ranking: 216.

Andre Fuller — Toledo

Fuller spent most of his college career at safety before moving to corner for one season. He plays a physical boundary role and will be a 24-year-old sixth-year senior entering the league. Consensus ranking: 226.

Late-round and upside candidates

If the Patriots move up or decide to take a corner earlier, names to watch include Keith Abney II (Arizona State), Devin Moore (Florida), and Davison Igbinosun (Ohio State).

Other late targets for depth include Jadon Canady (Oregon), Tacario Davis (Washington), Ephesians Prysock (Washington), and Karon Prunty (Wake Forest).
