Ukraine Confirms Strike on Russian Drone Plant in Taganrog

Attack on Atlant-Aero facility

The targeted site was the Atlant-Aero plant. The company develops and produces strike and reconnaissance drones for the Russian military.

A fire broke out at the facility after the strike. The plant manufactures Molniya-type drones and parts for the Orion UAV.

The Orion platform can carry up to 250 kilograms of payload. That includes guided aerial bombs and missile systems.

Other targets hit the same night

Ukrainian forces also struck an ammunition depot near Trudove in occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Logistics warehouses were hit in Mangush, Topolyne, and Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast.

Fuel storage tanks were struck near Novopoltavka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Officials are still assessing the full extent of the damage.

Strike reported in Krasnodar Krai

Earlier on April 19, drones reportedly struck a seaport in Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai. Independent Russian outlet Astra said smoke rose from the port.

Krasnodar Krai’s Operational Headquarters said drone debris fell in the seaport area. Debris reportedly shattered windows in three homes.

Russian statements and verification

Rostov Oblast Governor Yuri Slyusar said commercial infrastructure sustained damage in Taganrog. He also reported a warehouse fire and said three people were injured.

The Russian authorities did not explicitly name the drone plant in initial comments. Filmogaz.com could not immediately verify the details.

Potential impact

Ukrainian officials said the strike will likely hamper Russia’s drone production capacity. Reduced production could limit attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.

Ukraine has repeatedly struck military targets inside Russia and occupied territories. The strikes aim to degrade Moscow’s ability to continue the war.
