Storms Leave Over 8,700 Without Power in Middle Tennessee
Severe storms swept through Middle Tennessee on Thursday evening. By 12:15 p.m. Friday, utilities reported more than 8,700 customers still without power.
Peak outages approached 79,000 before 9 p.m. Thursday night. Hail, lightning and strong winds toppled trees and damaged power lines across the region.
Mt. Juliet police answered multiple storm-related calls. Officers warned residents to avoid downed utility equipment and to exercise caution while traveling.
