Ranking Every Episode of Smiling Friends Season 3

Smiling Friends concluded its run with Adult Swim after a third and final season. Creators Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack ended the series following three seasons.

The final batch of episodes aired last weekend. Filmogaz.com has reviewed all ten entries from Season 3.

How we ranked

Our assessment weighed animation, comedy, emotion, and fan impact. We also considered standout visuals and memorable gags.

Episode rankings and notes

10. Friend-Bot (Version 12589218731809213528796879521)

This instalment landed lowest on the list. It was one of two episodes produced in the original order and then dropped when the finale was announced.

The plot tackles artificial intelligence and includes a reveal about Allan’s link to a real-life passionate fan. Many viewers found the episode flatter than others in the season.

9. Charlie’s Uncle Dies and Doesn’t Come Back

The series finale gives fans a first look at Charlie’s uncle. This pays off a running gag that dates back to Season 1.

The episode also resolves the rivalry between Allan and his landlord. The closing line goes to Mr. Boss.

8. Mole Man

Mole Man directly addresses the Smiling Friends fandom. The character’s obsession with Pim and Charlie serves as meta commentary.

The story includes an Allan and Glep side plot called the “Smooling Fronds.” The episode ends with Mole Man rejecting the main duo.

7. Squim Returns

Squim is presented as the first Smiling Friend Mr. Boss ever hired. His relentless positivity is played as a single-note joke.

The episode features Charlie getting sick from a parasite kabob. It also includes surreal animated sequences and moments of extreme violence.

6. Silly Samuel

This episode reopened the season and reintroduced the show’s tone. Silly Samuel’s aggressive, one-note behavior drives the plot.

The Smiling Friends office inspection provides additional chaos. The line “Hey it’s me Charlie” became an early standout gag.

5. Le Voyage Incroyable de Monsieur Grenouille

Mr. Frog returns for a large-scale, emotional outing. The episode shows his global fame and ensuing depression.

It serves as a farewell for the character. Fans found the send-off surprisingly poignant.

4. Pim and Charlie Save Mother Nature

The pair travel to Mr. Boss’ cabin and face Mother Nature. The Super Monkey Ball gag proved especially popular online.

Mr. Boss displays a wide emotional range in this story. Allan’s interactions with the duo deliver strong visual comedy.

3. Curse of the Green Halloween Witch

The Halloween special mixes creepy moments with brutal humor. It imagines an extreme version of Pim with violent consequences.

The episode closes on a gag involving millions of cars arriving suddenly. That final beat ranks among the season’s best payoffs.

2. The Glep Ep

This entry finally explains Glep’s role at the company. The episode reveals a centuries-long origin for the character.

It also functions as an origin story for Mr. Boss. The result is both revealing and emotionally resonant.

1. Shmaloogles

Shmaloogles tops our list as the season’s finest episode. It blends a fresh premise, violent comedy, and a brilliant cut-to-montage gag.

The story highlights why Pim and Charlie work as a duo. Charlie’s realist solution ultimately saves the day, echoing the show’s recurring “realistic dialogue” theme.
