Jade Cargill Explains Her Advantage Over Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42
Jade Cargill will put the WWE women’s championship on the line on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Her challenger is Rhea Ripley, the winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber.
Title reign and recent form
Cargill captured the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event in November, beating Tiffany Stratton. Her reign has passed 165 days as she heads into the big match.
She has been a regular on SmackDown since joining WWE. Her debut came at the 2024 Royal Rumble.
WrestleMania history
Cargill has already featured on multiple WrestleMania cards. At WrestleMania 40 she teamed with Naomi and Bianca Belair to defeat Dakota Kai, Asuka and Kairi Sane, pinning Kai for the victory.
She also won a landmark singles match at WrestleMania 41, defeating Naomi after their on-screen split.
How she frames the matchup
In an interview with Filmogaz.com, Jade Cargill said her size, strength and momentum give her the advantage. She described herself as the champion and said those factors tilt the bout in her favor.
Cargill pointed to her WrestleMania record and recent momentum. She told reporters she feels “red hot” and noted she is 2-0 at the show.
Allies and strategy
She has formed an alliance with Michin and B-Fab. Cargill called them allies of convenience, not a formal stable.
She did not confirm whether they will accompany her at WrestleMania 42. The trio united after sharing a common opponent who moved from Raw to SmackDown.
Career milestones and adjustments
Cargill and Belair became two-time tag team champions during her early run. She also won the Queen of the Ring tournament in 2025.
The performer has discussed changing her character since joining WWE. She said learning to work in tag teams and adjusting her persona involved trial and error.
