Epic Games has released a teaser for Fortnite’s Save the World mode. The studio confirmed the mode will switch to a free-to-play model.

Mode description
Save the World is a cooperative PvE experience with base-defense mechanics. Players fight waves of monsters and rescue stranded survivors.
Unlike Battle Royale, the mode emphasizes story and character progression. Missions focus on teamwork and narrative advancement.

Epic Games Expands Save the World Access to All Players when the mode becomes free on April 16, 2026. The announcement followed the April 13, 2026 teaser release.
