‘The Madison’ Secures Season 3 Renewal with Pfeiffer and Russell

Paramount+ has given Taylor Sheridan’s family drama a third season. The streamer confirmed Season 3 renewal for The Madison. Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell will return to their lead roles.

Production and filming schedule

The series used an unusual production plan. Season two was shot before season one premiered.

Producers adjusted filming to accommodate Russell’s commitments to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. His season one scenes were filmed during the season two production. That work occurred about a year after the initial September 2024 shoot.

Cast and creative team

Pfeiffer leads as Stacy Clyburn. Russell plays her husband Preston.

Supporting players include Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Will Arnett. Matthew Fox appears only in season one.

Taylor Sheridan created the series. Christina Alexandra Voros directed every episode. Executive producers are Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox.

Release strategy and reception

The Madison premiered across two weekends in March. The first three episodes arrived on March 14. The final three followed on March 21.

Paramount+ called it the biggest original series launch for a Sheridan title on the platform. The show drew roughly 8 million viewers worldwide in its first ten days.

Story and future arcs

The plot centers on a Manhattan family bound to Montana by grief. Preston dies in a plane crash while visiting his brother at a ranch. The loss forces Stacy and her relatives to confront the life he loved in the mountains.

Season one tracked their arrival, strained relationships and the reasons Preston felt pulled west. The finale ends with Stacy deciding to relocate to Montana. That decision sets up multiple returns to the region in season two and beyond.

Creative direction

The show began with ties to the Yellowstone universe. Sheridan later reworked the scripts so the series stands alone.

Voros and the cast say Sheridan envisioned at least three seasons. The completed second season deepened the family dynamics and emotional complexity.
