Heat’s Bam Adebayo Suffers Back Injury, Return Uncertain

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo exited early in the second quarter of Tuesday’s SoFi Play-In Tournament game in Charlotte. He limped off after a collision with Hornets guard LaMelo Ball that left him on his back.

The play

LaMelo Ball was on the floor when he appeared to swipe at Adebayo’s left foot. Adebayo fell backward and landed hard on his back. Play moved to the other end before officials stopped the game.

Immediate response

Trainers attended to Adebayo on the court. He rose and walked to the locker room under his own power.
