About Maxima

Maxima is a warrior queen from the planet Almerac. She first appeared in Action Comics #645 in 1990.

Created by Roger Stern and George Pérez, the character has been an antagonist, ally, and would-be love interest for Superman. In comics, she arrives on Earth seeking a suitable mate.

The character has appeared on Smallville and Supergirl in live-action television. Charlotte Sullivan and Eve Torres Gracie previously portrayed her. She has also featured in Superman: The Animated Series.

This casting marks Maxima’s first appearance in a live-action DC film.

Arjona’s recent work

Arjona won a co-lead role in Thomas Crown Affair opposite Michael B. Jordan last year. That film opens in 2027.

She is represented by CAA and Goodman Genow. Her new role further raises her profile in big-budget franchise cinema.
