Tragic End: Missing New London Child Found Dead After 2 Hours
A three-year-old boy was reported missing in New London just before 5 a.m. on Monday. His father last checked on him around midnight.
Discovery and medical response
Officers found the child shortly after 7:15 a.m. He was located in the Wolf River in the downtown area.
Emergency crews transported him to a local hospital. Police announced about 11:30 a.m. that the child had died, a tragic end to the search.
He was reported missing for roughly two hours and was found dead after two hours of searches.
Investigation details
Chief Josh Wilson told Filmogaz.com the boy appeared to have wandered about four blocks. It is unknown how long he was in the water.
Officers are still investigating how and why the child left the house. Authorities have not released the boy’s name.

The initial report came from the area near New London Middle School. Local responders searched the downtown riverfront during the early morning hours.
