2026 PGA Championship Newtown: Expect Road Closures, Drone Ban, Traffic Changes
The 2026 PGA Championship comes to Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square from May 11 to May 17. Weather delays could push play and operations into May 18.
St. Davids Road closures
St. Davids Road will be closed on tournament days to most traffic. Closures run from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Access will be allowed only for vehicles displaying authorized hang tags. The road may reopen as early as 6 p.m. on some days, if play allows.

Police advise residents to reschedule nonessential services that week. Expect delays entering and exiting affected neighborhoods.
Traffic management and emergency services
Local police will direct traffic on surrounding roads to reduce congestion. Motorists should follow posted signs and officer directions.
Emergency services in the township will be staffed at normal levels. All event medical and safety teams working at the championship are supplemental and PGA-funded.
Residents should anticipate Traffic Changes around the course and nearby streets. Plan for longer travel times during peak tournament hours.
Airspace restrictions and drone ban
The FAA has authorized a No Fly Zone for unauthorized aircraft around Aronimink during the event. The restriction runs May 11 through May 17.
Drone detection and mitigation teams will respond to any unauthorized flights. The Drone Ban will be enforced to protect public safety and player privacy.
