Gunners Return: FPL Strategy Tips and Chip Planning
The Premier League returns on Saturday after a four-week gap. Gameweek 32 of Fantasy Premier League kicks off this weekend.
Arsenal travel through recent form following their win over Everton. Viktor Gyokeres and Max Dowman scored crucial late goals at the Emirates.
Arsenal performers and points
William Saliba (£6.1m) led the side with 11 points. He earned a clean sheet and bonus points.
Gabriel (£7.2m) added nine points and now sits on 173 season points. Gyokeres (£8.8m) and David Raya (£6.0m) each scored seven.
Max Dowman (£4.2m) and Riccardo Calafiori (£5.6m) contributed six points apiece. Calafiori is seven points short of 100.
Bournemouth status and player notes
Bournemouth last played on March 20 at home to Manchester United. A 22-day gap exists since that fixture.
Antoine Semenyo departed the club in January. Yet Bournemouth still possess several affordable Fantasy options.
Marcos Senesi (£5.1m) is their leading scorer with 137 points. He is owned by more than 20% of managers.
James Hill (£4.2m) has risen in popularity after a price rebound. He returned a -1 from an own goal last match.
Adrien Truffert (£4.7m) and Alex Scott (£5.0m) have offered differential value. Marcus Tavernier (£5.4m) has 109 points this season.
Chip planning and immediate strategy
Only seven Gameweeks remain in the season. Players holding all chips should act or make a clear plan.
A confirmed Double Gameweek falls in GW33. Fixtures for six clubs move forward to that scoring period.
The six teams without GW34 matches are Manchester City, Chelsea, Brighton, Bournemouth, Leeds United and Burnley. Their GW34 fixtures are brought into GW33.
Many managers consider a Bench Boost in GW33. A Wildcard in GW32 often precedes that Bench Boost.
Gunners Return has shifted some managers’ planning. Filmogaz.com offers FPL Strategy Tips for navigating the doubles and blanks.
Wildcard timing and risks
Playing a Wildcard in GW32 to target GW33 doubles commonly forces a Free Hit in GW34. That is unless many free transfers are banked.
Wildcarding in GW33 removes the chance of a Bench Boost that week. It can leave squads exposed for GW34.
Some managers prefer a late Wildcard in GW35. They believe fixtures and form then could offer better value.
Both approaches carry risk. Decide based on your transfers, squad strength, and appetite for rotation.
Double Gameweek player options
- Manchester City: Nico O’Reilly (£5.0m) and Jeremy Doku (£6.4m) could earn minutes.
- Chelsea: Joao Pedro (£7.8m) and Cole Palmer (£10.6m) are attacking options on a fresh Wildcard.
- Brighton: Jan Paul van Hecke (£4.5m) and Danny Welbeck (£6.2m) offer defensive and attacking promise.
- Leeds United: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.6m) may start twice in GW33 against Wolves and Bournemouth.
- Leeds budget picks: Joe Rodon (£3.9m) and goalkeeper Karl Darlow (£3.9m) provide value if fit.
Managing chips and timing
Smart managers may bank transfers to avoid a Free Hit. That allows using a Free Hit earlier while still gaining doubles.
If Bench Boost is still available, GW33 is the preferred week to play it. That week contains the largest set of doublers.
Man City and Crystal Palace still need to complete a postponed GW31 match. That fixture will likely be rescheduled to GW36 or GW37.
That rescheduling keeps a Triple Captain option alive. Players such as Erling Haaland or Antoine Semenyo remain candidates.

Note the transfer and team selection deadline is moved earlier this week. It falls on Friday at 6:30pm UK time.
That earlier deadline is due to West Ham and Wolves kicking off GW32 later that evening. Plan your final transfers accordingly.
