Derick has long aspired to become a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer. According to the U.S. Marine Corps, JAG officers provide essential legal advice and services to Marine Corps personnel. Jill shared that Derick had initially received a recruiting letter for OCS last year, but family considerations initially delayed his enlistment.

Training and Future Plans

The family plans to relocate to Virginia following Derick’s ten weeks of training. Jill mentioned that they would then move to Rhode Island for further training. She expressed gratitude for the support they have received and highlighted a sense of divine guidance throughout this process.
