50/50 Raffle Winner Astonished by Her Incredible Luck

In an astonishing turn of events, Carrie Cerenzie from Sault Ste. Marie has become the winner of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation’s latest 50/50 draw, securing an impressive jackpot of $81,125. Her initial reaction to the news was one of disbelief, as she exclaimed, “Oh my goodness, are you kidding? Is this for real?”

Cerenzie’s Winning Moment

Cerenzie purchased her ticket the night before the draw, a last-minute decision triggered by a reminder email she received while waiting for clients during a property showing. When she saw her number pop up on the phone, she expected a call about real estate, not the life-changing news awaiting her.

Long-Time Supporter of the Cause

A devoted supporter of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF), Cerenzie never imagined she would win. She expressed her gratitude for the exceptional care she has received over the years. “It’s a way for me to give back,” she noted, emphasizing the importance of contributing to such vital community services.

Cerenzie also set a philanthropic example by donating $10,000 of her winnings back to the foundation, which plays a crucial role in funding lifesaving equipment for the hospital.

Future Plans and Aspirations

The remainder of her winnings will go toward supporting her daughter’s academic pursuits. Cerenzie plans to help her daughter remain debt-free as she works toward a PhD in Chemistry. Additionally, she may consider using part of the funds to build a new garage.

Other Winners and Upcoming Opportunities

  • Early bird winner Linda Helin from Timmins, Ontario, also had her moment in the spotlight. She opted for an $8,000 cash prize over a $10,000 travel voucher.

The excitement surrounding the 50/50 Raffle continues to shine a light on the generosity of the Sault Ste. Marie community while supporting critical healthcare initiatives through the Sault Area Hospital Foundation.
