The college season ended April 5 when UCLA claimed the national title. The transfer portal opened immediately. The offseason work for Michigan State begins now.

Offseason snapshot

Coach Robyn Fralick faces significant roster turnover for 2026-27. Michigan State women’s basketball roster updates show a potential mass exodus.

As of April 7, the Spartans could lose as many as 10 players before next November. The program begins retooling with both departures and returnees to evaluate.

Graduations and draft plans

  • Graduating players: Grace VanSlooten, Emma Shumate, Abbey Kimball, Marah Dykstra and Jalyn Brown.
  • Jalyn Brown announced plans to enter the WNBA draft on April 6.

Transfer portal entries

Four Spartans from the recent season have entered the transfer portal. Those players are Rashunda Jones, Ines Sotelo, Juliann Woodard and Jordan Ode.

Each is exploring options as the offseason kicks off. Their decisions will shape roster construction.

Injury and eligibility questions

Theryn Hallock missed most of the season with a foot injury. She played eight games and averaged 10.6 points.

Hallock took part in senior day activities in February. A potential medical redshirt and a return remain undecided.

Returning core

Several contributors are expected to return for the Spartans. They provide size, scoring and ball-handling.

Isa Alexander

Alexander battled injuries but returned late in the season. The 6-foot-3 forward played 17 games with four starts.

She shot 60.7 percent from the field and averaged 7.6 points per game.

Kennedy Blair

Blair started all 32 games and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors. She averaged 14.5 points and 7.1 rebounds.

She served as a primary ball handler and will enter next season as a junior.

Sara Sambolic

Sambolic transferred from overseas and became eligible in mid-December. She appeared in 22 games and made four starts.

She will be a senior next season and adds backcourt depth.

Amy and Anna Terrian

Amy Terrian grew into a larger role as a freshman. She shot 44.3 percent from three and made 27 triples.

Anna Terrian, her twin, saw action in nine games and will be a sophomore next year.

Incoming freshman

Lilly Williams is the lone signed player for the 2026 class. She stands 6-foot-6 and played at Howell this season.

Williams was named state Miss Basketball and earned McDonald’s All-American honors. ESPN ranks her No. 15 in the 2026 class.
