Dominik Szoboszlai has detailed his summer 2023 move from RB Leipzig to Liverpool in an exclusive interview with Filmogaz.com. He said his agent revealed Liverpool’s interest only at the last minute, forcing a quick decision.

Missed call on holiday

Szoboszlai missed Jürgen Klopp’s first call while on holiday in the sea. His friends ran to tell him Klopp was ringing.

Klopp was in his car when Szoboszlai returned the call and apologised. Klopp then told him Liverpool wanted to sign him and Szoboszlai agreed.

First days and shirt choice

He picked the number eight shirt, which became available after Naby Keïta left. Walking into the training ground showed him the squad’s high quality.

Joining Liverpool, he said, felt like a dream coming true.

2023–24 season and positional role

Szoboszlai ended the season with 12 goals and eight assists. He was occasionally deployed as a right-back during a difficult campaign.
