The new collection includes a variety of products, particularly suited for outdoor activities. Items in the lineup are as follows:
- Canoes

- Canvas bags
- Beach chairs
- Cornhole games
- Houseware
Background on the Collaboration
This marks the first time Canadian Tire has designed products using the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) trademarks, which they acquired for $30 million. Previously, Canadian Tire only offered merchandise that utilized existing HBC designs during the last holiday season.
Eva Salem, Canadian Tire’s Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Brand, noted that customer reception to the past holiday collection was overwhelmingly positive. She stated that this new collection aims to build on that enthusiasm by aligning with how Canadians enjoy their summers.
Pricing and Availability
The summer collection features premium items, as well as more affordable options. The pricing details include:
- 16-foot canoe: approximately $10,000
- 9-foot canoe: around $6,000
- Point blankets: starting at $350 for a twin size to $530 for a king
- Mugs: priced at $8 each
- Outdoor cushions: about $30 each
In a notable first, selected products will also be available for purchase through Mark’s, the clothing retailer owned by Canadian Tire.
Market Perspective
Retail consultant Elisha Ballantyne remarked positively about the mix of HBC staples and Canadian Tire’s well-known products, highlighting the nostalgic appeal combined with summer trends. However, she expressed some surprise at the limited availability of patio dining items that fit both brands’ aesthetics.
She emphasized the challenge Canadian Tire faces in maintaining customer interest beyond the initial release. The previous holiday collection’s limited offerings created urgency among customers, a dynamic that may differ for the broader summer assortment available for three months.
This unique collection represents a significant step in Canadian Tire’s ongoing partnership with HBC, reinforcing their joint legacy while catering to the evolving tastes of Canadian consumers.
